H Maurice... (I received this email from my bank) Bad news for the wireless world .....

Dear Customer,

By way of this letter, we regrettably inform you that Bank of Montreal will officially suspend operation of its Wireless Services effective 5:00 P.M. EDT on Wednesday, July 31, 2002. Unfortunately, usage of wireless technology for financial transactions has not reached the level required to justify the costs associated with these services.

While Wireless Services will not be available to our customers in general after July 31, 2002, some specific Bank of Montreal divisions, such as BMO InvestorLine, are currently evaluating service offerings to enhance the direct investing experience - which may include the re-introduction of Wireless Services at some point in the future.

As you know, you will still have access to the information you need to complete your banking and investing transactions using the various other channels available to Bank of Montreal customers.

For your banking needs, we invite you to use our extensive branch and ABM network as well as BMO mbanx Direct's telephone and online banking services. With Direct Banking, you have access to your Bank of Montreal accounts by telephone or the Internet 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our specialized mbanx Direct Managers are also available to assist you with your everyday banking, lending and investing needs. Just call 1-800-363-9992 or go to www.bmo.com.

For your investing needs, options include:
w BMO InvestorLine customers continue to have full access to account and investment information 24 hours a day, seven days a week online at www.bmoinvestorline.com or by phone at 1-888-776-6886 for automated service or to speak to an investment representative.

w BMO Nesbitt Burns clients can continue to access account information at gateway.bmonesbittburns.com or by calling your Investment Advisor directly.

w BMO Harris Private Banking clients have access to all of Bank of Montreal's resources mentioned above, and should contact their Private Banker directly or call 1-800-844-6442 if they have any questions.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for using Bank of Montreal's Wireless Services and we look forward to continuing to assist you with your banking and investment needs.

Yours truly,

Jo-Anne Boyd
