When Bill Gross was profiled in Fortune a few months back, I knew it had to be some kind of top... they portrayed him as an intellectually eclectic, legendary figure, intent and inscrutable as the Buddha. He alone was calm and assuredly right, while everyone else was enervated and scrambling about madly. They showed him as a man in his florit, as the Greeks used to put it. But once at the peak, where else is there to go but down?

(Just like Bill Clinton said in February 2000, prophetically, "...tonight is very special, because we stand on the mountain top of a new millennium...")
