tippet, we are in a secular bear, so I don't really believe I'll have to worry about how Max Pain works in a bull or a bubble market for some time.

If you think it is all just noise, maybe you can explain another reason for ramps that happen only in the beginning of the month about 10-days prior to expiration and appear to stop, coincidently, right after options expiration ends. That describes Feb, March, April, May, and June.
