Gottfried, I am afraid that even though I agree with what you are seeing that AMAT is going lower still before it finds a firm bottom. It really is not a question of fundamentals to me because I can see that issue from either point of view. It is simply the long term technical picture:

We have ample evidence that capex may be softer than we might hope as AMAT longs. Warnings from INTC and MU come to mind. Did you listen to this about MU tonight:

The question is when do investors stop selling due to all the reasons we know only too well and start thinking about a 2003 that might just be better than we expect?

When that happens AMAT should trade much higher than today's close.
