Watching Hardball tonight was aggravating.

Chris Matthews had Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (from Tx) on. She's one of those people who seem to think that all they have to do is ratchet up the volume and talk over everyone else and it gives her words more meaning and weight.

The woman needs a serious dope slap.

(Topic, btw, was whether the NAACP should have its 601(c)(3) tax exempt status revoked as a result of engaging in political lobbying and trying to influence legislation)

RE: GWB

I thought his speech the other day was lacking.

He has to take the bull by the horns and missed the opportunity. Right or wrong the public wants to see meaningful reforms on business. It looks like he's trying to not go to far but the public wants to see these ceo's slapped and slapped hard.

Of course the problem with reforms are they add another cost layer which hinders job creation. His middle ground is not going to cut it with the Nov. elections just around the corner. For better or worse he has to support the Senate version of the bill. 97 to 0 is kinda a strong message wouldn't you think.

As for reelection his only chance is if we have the recession now or right after the Nov. elections and its short lived with US creating jobs going into the 2004 elections. Also, if Osama is still on the loose he will be toast.

All in MHO of course.
