Pretty funny.... although I'll bet dollars to doughnuts that Barrick would have to put up 'margin' of some portion of the value of those bad boyz... Also... if Barrick is short a call option to Citi and Barrick extends it who says they have to cover the short... they're still long a call option and short gold [collecting interest] which is a free synthetic put. It's hard to tell from that article how smart Barrick really is... and I'll tell you this... these banks have freakin PHD's from the best universities in Russia, India, Europe, and the US sitting around with the most powerful computers in the world just modeling and blabbing about the mind numming 3-D graphical representations they're looking at while they plug in all these different variables into the contracts.... I doubt Barrick has pulled any wool over anyone. <NFG> DAK DAK
