Dear John: I was thinking the same myself but never said anything as I know how it would go down with some on this thread. Personally, I think one of the reasons Bush's poll numbers stay so high is he doesnt get involved in Partisan politics like a number of the Dems are currently doing. I suspect most Americans are like myself, sick of this BS.
Incidentally, this morning after my post I was watching comments by the former SEC Chairman that many respected (Levitt) and he said Pitt was the most EXPERIENCED Securities Attorney this Nation has ever had and very much supports his being head of the SEC. Course, he also supports oversight of the CPA industry by Regulators and breakup of the firms from Consulting and Auditing. If this comes to pass it is going to really hurt the Partners paychecks or else they are going to HAVE to DRAMATICALLY increase auditing fees (which while they appear high, in reality have been almost loss leaders to get to the more lucrative Consulting and tax practices). jdn

Oh, baloney. You guys want Dubya to be totally beyond criticism now? Anything less is unpatriotic? How convenient for him. If a Senator thinks Bush's proposals are weak, he owes it to us to point that out. That's the American way.
