LOL....yep, I'd say zero would be a good time to buy....but I still say if your looking a long ways ahead and buying for the future, I would be slowly buying the dips, and only on select stocks, such as ones that meet my earlier criteria. I sure as heck would not be blowing my whole wad...I would spend very prudently, as we dont know how low we go, but if you are able to stick with select stocks, and buy them when they are valued low, and able to keep your average cost down, it wont take much a rally to get a nice ROI...I have some stocks I bought at $14 - $20, that I now own at $5 - $9, but my average cost is now $7 - $12.....I'll keep powder ready so when the BIG dips hit, I can lower my average cost.....I sure would hate to have bought a year or two ago, and not averaged down....what if you bought EXTR at $35 and then didnt buy any at $6....Man, do you know how long, if ever it would take to get back to break even.....So, I am trying to stay in slect stocks only that meet my criteria, with a few "lottery tickets" mixed in, and I do my best to keep my average cost close enough to where I can get out at break even on a half ass rally if I want to, but I do believe one day we will recover to some degree.....could be next year, could be 10 years......but eventually things will hopefully recover somewhat....if not, and we do indeed go to zero and we see the collapse of our financial markets, we will all be in deep doo doo, as this nation would be forever changed, as 80% of the people will lose their retirement $'s and all money invested...banks insure up to $100k I think, and if our financial markets completely collapse, so will the banks....I think we are still in the bear market...too much uncertainty over terrorism, middle east, accounting scandals, poor earnings and etc, etc, and we head sideways to down for....I have no idea how long or how low....but I think technolgy will continue to advance at record paces and eventually earnings will come back, and hopefully world problems and accounting issues get settled.....who knows when any of this happens, but I do hope it happens in my lifetime<ggg>......

Bush was handed this mess, but I have to admit, his response is not enough. Furthermore, look in the mirror.
