Petrol, if you have physical possession of the certificates you can take them to any solvent broker to sell but if your brokerage closes down -you may not have access to your account for a period of time while the mess gets sorted out. I was a kid in the 70s but I think some brokerages closed then and i don't know what happened- a good question for MB - knigthy tin .mike
