3:12pm 07/10/02 Pacific Growth sees 'great buying opportunity' in Zoran (ZRAN) By Tomi Kilgore Analyst Brian Alger at Pacific Growth Equities feels there is a "great buying opportunity" in the shares of Zoran (ZRAN) , which is sliding $3.10, or 16 percent, to $16.15. He attributed the current slide to reports that chipmaker ESS Technology (ESST) has cut prices in China in response to aggressive pricing from another competitor. Alger noted that although Zoran participates in China, but that a majority of the company's exposure relates to exported products. "We do not expect this pricing to impact Zoran's earnings," Alger said in a note to clients. "Given the strong market outlook and the solid financial position of the company, we recommend investors take advantage of what we believe to be a temporary investment opportunity."
