JW, Note how Barrick and Placer had been gaining all afternoon. Either it shows a lot of shorts were involved in the stock OR more likely mutual funds want to buy Gold stocks and see this as a great opportunity to buy up ABX and PDG and even another metal stock (nickel), Inco--- that is also coming out of the SnP500. The fifth was was Alcan Aluminum. All the Canadian stocks that got booted out were metals....very interesting.
One of the two European stocks was an oil company.

I see this is a sign that demand is there for the precious metal names. So many other Golds ended the day with a surge.

btw-anybody come with some sort conspiracy theory of Standard and Poors helping in the work of the PPT? <g>
(I don't think there is anything fishy about the change but I would not be suprised if some others do <g>)

Ahem, jim I think you got your convincing S&P close below 944. Where do you think it closes next? 911.

I can't tell if these are Porche auto models or secret terrorist code.

BTW, Looks like my 3.5 hour summer rally prediction came true.

Swamy (help me with the spelling)
