OK Patron, here's what your genius manager had to say after last night's debacle:

"It's highly improper to try to place blame on anybody for this thing. It happens."

NO BLAME? Brenly had a roster of THIRTY players, including 9 pitchers. He was left having the pitcher bat with the winning run in scoring position and one out in the bottom of the 11th.

IT HAPPENS? Uh, no Bob, it doesn't. There have been 72 All-Star games before this one and exactly NONE have ended in ties (actually one ended in a tie, but it was called due to rain after nine innings). Five games have gone longer than 11 innings, including one 15-inning game.

Bob Brenly is rapidly adding to his credentials as the most ridiculously incompetent manager in major league history. If Joe Torre managed the D'Backs they'd win 130 games. Hell, Harpo Cohen could probably manage the D'Backs to more wins than Brenly.

Of course, it is complete poetic justice that this happened in Milwaukee in front of Bud Selig's home "fans". Don't for a second think that this is "coincidence". Fate works, and what goes around comes around.

Frankly, that game was a perfect reflection of America generally and the stock market specifically. Bunch of morons who get paid a million bucks to be an average performer slap each other on the back, pretend to work hard, collect their bonuses and slip out the back door to their private jets, leaving the paying public wondering what the fark just happened. And there's no one to blame for the fiasco; it just happens.

It ain't no accident that THAT game happened last night.

Cheers
