I see a new Stock-related Dept of Homeland Security coming
throw $100M per year at the corporate financial oversight
it wont work, because they will become burokrats
Harvey Pitt is a burokrat, heading the SEC
imagine an SEC with 10 Pitts running into each other
that is what is coming, another ineffective burokracy
they would expose some fraudulent accounting, perhaps
heck, SEC exposed Xerox
name one other over the past three years!!!

instead, what we need if reformed accounting audits
the companies pay for it
but no auditor can continue beyond three years
then the responsibility rotates to another acctg firm
maybe some small review audit board externally, unsure

and the top accounting firms would be forcibly broken up
in order to ensure that sufficient competition exists
auditors sign off on submitted SEC filings
both auditors and CEO/CFO/ChairmanBoard are liable for accuracy and integrity
