A couple of years ago I raised the possibility here that there could soon be a glut of fiber optic capacity. A couple of bonehead bulls immediately told me i was wrong, that internet traffic was ballooning faster than any carrier could ever accomodate.

Funny enough, as I said at the time, I got that idea from Forbes FYI, a quarterly publication of forbes magazine. The lead time for that article had to be at least 2 months. And it had to have been kicking around VC circles for some time prior to that. No way it couldn't have been.

i always thought that all that WCOM got from MCI was a bunch of retail voice customers using old wires and antiquated switching boards. I guess the great walk-on-water genious Bernie Ebbers couldn't figure that out beforehand. Why didn't he call me ?
