Probably won't do any good, but I sent him an email anyway. Dear Representative Inslee, I read today with shock and disappointment your nay vote for roll call 292, which would allow the arming of Pilots to protect against another airline terrorist attack. clerkweb.house.gov This foolish position during a time of war is an obvious pander to special interest groups who live and breath in order to remove our second amendment gun owning rights. Many pilots are ex-military officers, if they have the training, permits, qualification and desire to carry a gun in the cockpit, why would you deny them their right to protect the flying public from terrorists? We already have Sky Marshals randomly flying with weapons to combat terrorists. So, arming pilots who wish to be armed only makes additional sense as a back-up measure to protect the public. Recently, a terrorists was killed in Los Angeles by an armed security guard hired by an Israeli airliner. What would have happened if the airport didn't allow guns to be used by security personnel in the terminal? How many people should needlessly die in order for the special interest, anti-second amendment lobby to get their way? This reckless and dangerous vote by you calls into question not only your integrity as my elected representative, but your judgement as my elected official. This is no joke! We are at war with a hidden terrorist network who wishes to destroy our very way of life. Unless we have congressional representatives with the courage to take on special interest groups, for the good of the nation, our liberties could be seriously curtailed for decades to come. My son and two daughters deserve to grow up in an America where we can safely travel and live out our lives in peace, they deserve to have all the protection they can get in an aircraft when they travel, and they deserve to have congressional representatives who can understand the depth of the problem we face, and vote on important legislation accordingly. Unless you rescind this dangerous vote, I will be forced to not only vote for someone else this election cycle, but work tirelessly for their election as well.
