why Robert Fick or Randy Winn or Mike Williams or Roy Halladay need to have their egos "managed" is frankly well beyond me. none of these guys would start for half of the teams in the majors, let alone be 'all-stars'. sit them the f*&^ on the bench and if the game gets to extra innings then let them play. i've had it up to farking HERE with all of this "not hurting someone's self esteem" crap. EVERYBODY gets trophies in the little league where i coach (and win every year ;^) and every time i suggest that only the winning teams get trophies you'd think that i'd suggested that we publicly tar & feather and then draw & quarter the losing teams. i don't care what arse-holes like that arm-chair liberal POS Charlie Pierce say, baseball IS a metaphor of America and that game last night highlights EVERYTHING that is wrong with this country right now. as i said before, it is NOT an accident that THAT game happened right NOW.
