Remember the mind numbing flows of cash flooding the markets back then?

There just seemed to be no end of the flow!! And all of the cash flowing in kept driving the prices up and up ..

and it's mindless money .. The folks that spent it had no idea what company they were spending it on .. just more into the mutual fund .. doesn't matter what stocks are being bought, as long as it just keeps going up.

Heck it got even better .. "I don't even look at the market. It always goes up in the long term, so why should I worry."

I'm not saying stupid people .. I'm saying stupid money. All the folks that spent it were, and are, sharp within their areas .. just not the stock market.

The outflows are there now.

The inflows were there back then.

"fair value??" simply a marketing tool. If folks are willing to pay $100.00 for a stock it's worth $100.00. If nobody is willing to buy it, then it's worthless.

The boomers have started to move out of the market .. just started.

These folks have been burned now. What will it take to get them back? Probably what it took to bring them in the first time .. years of the market moving up.
