I am going to keep up with this guy -- he said summer is traditionally a slow period -- he may be cutting people loose by the fall. He did say that they saw the recession well before anyone else did -- I'm not sure that makes a whole lot of sense to me -- given the spending habits of Americans. You should look at a statistic given by Mr. Richibacher -- increase in floor space at stores with regard to population growth -- interesting statistic, that.

my contribution is simple: i'm in new england, i work in high tech, and after a brief lulling respite our fellow startups are again dropping like flies. from what i can tell the big boys have turned off the funding spigots knowing they're going to have their pick of companies/teams at pennies on the dollar.

my guess is this final(?) flush takes another 3 months or so. i don't expect a real pickup in activity/hiring/etc until march of next year.

all IMO.
