S.O. - good analysis. ANother point to add:
we often hear that "every bear mrkt (after WW2) has lasted roughly 13-16 months". The more correct statement should be that the average bear market lasts roughly 50% as long as the previous bull market. Do the math and think about the duration of the bear we are in. You're right that people are using a road map that's not applicable now, and this is part of the reason why.
