My dad taught me a few things about market before he died. One thing he just harped on over and over was the fact that the not only the little guy but everyone would put their money for retirement into market. He died in 1997 at 87 years old and was right on in his thinking. If heart failure didn't kill him, today's MRK stock price would have. <g>

I just never asked him how to deal with a bear market. I can remember he was contiunously grouchy in the 70's and didn't have many good stories to tell about his teenage years at end of 1920's and what kind of returns he got from his money invested in the pre Great depression market from his job sweeping up the hair clippings at the barbershop and working at Nedick's at Coney Island.

It is clear the average Joe has left the building and is not going to return for a while.

Market this week looks almost in reality like it is trading like the way you and sylvestor battling out on internet chat rooms againist Zeev and the bulls in your posts with all the rapid pace and heated tone of rhetoric.
