Wow. Then smart money must be shorting every company out there, because every company does it. The honest companies who faithfully follow GAAP aren't stupid. They use the rules to GAAP to their advantage as much as possible. They all do. What it amounts to is smoothing. So if now these companies are being targeted for shorting, there won't be one company that won't be shorted. Ergo, I don't believe smart money is doing any such thing. Contrarily, I believe smart money is going to cling to those who can be as predictable and boring as possible. That puts companies like Cisco and Microsoft in the driver's seat.
