My problem with privatizing social security is that it defeats the social purpose. Now if the Govt wants to invest the "social funds" to be used by all benefactors, with proper controls warrants review. However, for Joe Blow to manage his own social security monies for his own benefit defeats the purpose of the word "social". A much better suggestion would be to increase the limits on IRA's. Cutting taxes must coincidence with reducing the bloated defense budget. We can cut the defense budget by 50% and increase DOD's effectiveness. Otherwise at least this was a try at a start for debate, thanks.
