Or is regulation de rigeur here but not for the Great Unwashed out there? Enigma, The key to understanding the interpersonal dynamic here is that when the markets were in high cotton, a couple years ago, this thread was a swell promotion tool for various "market products". Selling the lurkers on various stock, option and future "strategies" was largely the purpose of the thread. Now that Mr. Market has been robbbed and is trying to sort out how it happened and how it can be avoided in the future, the sell-siders here have taken to getting extremely whiny and clubby. They don't want the dirty laundry of the Swindle Club For Excellence exposed. They want the secrets of the temple hidden from the view of the readership. The politix of the tread is just a cover. Have you noticed that as the markets have inexorably moved into the exploitation phase of the war, that there is no real discussion of this phase of the war on investors that Wall Street has so successfully waged? It's just like the exploitation phase at the end of the Iraq War. The damage is so heinous, and so complete that the best thing the apologists for the war on investors can think to do is impose a news embargo on market discussion and do a wag the dog routine by shifting the attention of the fleeced to the politics of the day. Too clever by half. """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" For those who missed it, here's a link to Senator John McCain's wonderful prescription for a sick market: nytimes.com This is the sort of topic that could usefully be discussed here, IMO. However, I'm sure it won't be. It doesn't suit the agenda of the promoters here. -Ray
