Ya gotta love the VIX, it's like a big cannon which isn't fired very often, but when it is fired, nice boom.

I don't feel a terrific rush about getting fully invested this morning, or even this week, although I think it's close. Redemptions in index funds seems to be the label people are putting on this equity train crash.

I bought a little AMD and TJX this morning after talking things over with Dabum, and I'm building a slow watch to buy list.

The Homeboys (dare I say it) seem to be rolling over en masse, which may be the best play for this week, on the short side. Weak looking homeboys are TOL HOV RYL and NVR.

It can be early, but making it over 40 today is a good marker. How many more days of down is dependent on how vigorous the selling gets. Today seems too restrained so far... A white knuckle, heart stopping arrest this afternoon would get the job done, but that's asking a lot. On a positive note, they had the persuasion index (the DOW) down 200 points at one time - hopefully that will get the LTBH crowd selling.

VXN also supportive starting to get extreme. Not enough history with this indicator for it to help us much.
