I find the hyper expansion of retail floor space ironic considering what the "new economy" was supposed to do for us. Even more ironic since I rarely go to retail stores any more but used to up through 1997. Now it's mostly just grocery, Costco, & HD. 90% of rest is via internet.

He's missing the point, consumers are spending 4x more now than they were in the early 90's.
