If the Arabs would accept Israel and leave the Jews alone, nobody would get killed. They have. Remember the Saudi initiative of a few months ago? That was a rehash of the same basic treaty "the Arabs" have been offering for 25 years. It does little more than ask Israel to obey international law (UN 242) and to recognize the Palestinian state. Israel refuses to even consider this. The PLO charter calls for the destruction of Israel. Similarly, the Israeli charter (WZO's charter), which calls for complete Jewish control over all of Palestine (plus parts of Jordan, Lebanon, etc.), has never been renounced. Hamas' charter calls for the destruction of Israel. Hamas endorsed the recent Saudi plan, which includes full recognition of Israel. Hamas has repeatedly stated that the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza is its overriding concern. Message 17406618 Tom
