Yep. Suppose we were back in 1938, and Roosevelt were a Republican. They would be whining about the continued Depression, and the spike in unemployment that occurred around then, asking "What has Roosevelt done?" They would be carping that Roosevelt's inaction had allowed the remilitarization of the Rhineland, the occupation of Czechoslovakia, and the Anschluss with Austria. They would be insinuating that Roosevelt and his gang of Ivy League elitists were mainly interested in cartelizing American industry for the benefit of the industrialists and financiers, who would get to cut sweetheart deals at the expense of consumers. They would point out that Roosevelt was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, and that he had mediocre grades in college, and refer to him as a "lightweight". Maybe they would take to referring to him as "Little Moose" to suggest that he would not have made it to the presidency if it were not for his famous relative, Theodore. They would look for evidence that he had connived with the Tammany machine in order to become Governor of New York, and suggest that his record as governor was insufficiently progressive. In short, they would trash Roosevelt constantly..........
