Barton Biggs was a classic bear on telecoms during their runnups a few years back & was probably one of the first to predict its demise. Barton can move markets, one of Elite Barons of Wall Street strategys. He timed as well the last surge in the Gold market.
Frankly, when Barton speaks main street listens or should anyway.

Furthermore, if one man can move millions of shares for billions of dollars, I can only imagine what he does in his individual account...

Hard to believe Briggs is pounding the table. he is very cautious. This seems like an overstatement by cnbc .
What Briggs said is areas for opportunity maybe telcom, tech, pharma. This is what I heard yesterday. the recommendation is not growth but that these stocks have perhaps sold out.
