Hi Michael. Interesting article. Shortly after Sept.11 Pres. Bush made it very clear to the country and the world that this war was not against islam, it was against terrorism. The world and more so the USA have been at war with islam for over 30 years. It was just not declared because one of our basic freedoms is freedom of religion. Also can you just imagine the backlash against muslims in the USA if the Prez. came right out and said to the world that this war is against islamic terrorists. No matter, it is taking a longer time for all to recognize that the real threat and the war is against islam. So IMO if islam is to survive it MUST change. Just how this will come about is unknown but it will happen. In that last terrorist shooting at the airport in LA it was very obvious that the USA administration is terrified of another islamic terrorist attack because they fear that a backlash is a very very real possibility.
