I was 10 years old when he threw his first no-hitter, that guy was the toast of the town, he had unbelievable streak of pitching in the early 60's, he probably put up the best streak of pitching over a five year period as any, with drysdale in the rotation, the Dodgers were a hell of a team back then. I don't remember if I ever saw Koufax pitch in person, my father was a big basketball fan, and we spent more time at the old Sports Arena in LA rooting for the hapless lakers who made it to the finals almost every year, only to get slammed by bill russell and co. in the finals -g-.
