US tech slowdown to linger for longer time: Vinod Dham

I am looking for the genius who doubles as MFB to tell me as to why the genius of Islam hasn't produced great writers, thinkers, philosophers, and scientists in this world, unless they have some Hindu genes in them. That is because they have been preaching violence all along and they have no time to develop brains but find it easy to develop brawns. If the MFB is using a pentium-based computer, he should dump it in a river in the Islamic world- (we don't want him to use the Potomac or the East River) because a Hindu Indian developed the pentium. Contrary to expectations and high hopes of an early revival, the technology meltdown in the US is likely to linger further, with signs of a complete turnaround emerging only after 2-3 years.

This predicament of the US Silicon Valley is reiterated by no less than Vinod K Dham, the father of the Pentium processor, and now an angel investor in technology start-ups, operating out of Santa Clara, California.

US rejects Pak demand of plebiscite in Kashmir
Pakistan should forget about Kashmir. It is no longer an issue. Pakistan is wasting its time and money for itself and causing terrorist activity against India and Kashmir.
The world has changed. pakistan can only be a vassal state for some superior power, for it won't be able to pay its bills on its own accord and has to depend on Uncle Sam to pay them. Pakistan should be happy that America hasn't declared it a terrorist state.

PTI [ FRIDAY, JULY 19, 2002 9:14:21 AM ]

WASHINGTON: Rejecting Islamabad's persistant demand for a plebiscite in Kashmir in accordance with the UN resolution, the US on Friday said it favoured the settlement of the problem bilaterally between India and Pakistan in accordance with the Shimla accord and hoped the coming Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir would lead to the resolution of the issue.
The US earlier did support the UN resolution calling for a plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir. "But in 1972, India and Pakistan reached an agreement that it would be a bilateral issue. We support India and Pakistan (for settling the issue bilaterally). We are working towards getting the two countries to the table," US Assistant Secretary of State Christina Rocca said.

US not to declare Pak terrorist state

WASHINGTON, July 18 (PTI)

The United States today made it very clear that it will not declare Pakistan a terrorist state as it had been a very "stalwart ally" in America's fight against terrorism.

"As far as putting Pakistan on the terrorism list, just to point out again, Pakistan has been a very stalwart ally in the fight againt terrorism," State Department spokesman Richard Boucher told reporters here. His comment came close on the heels of Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani's statement in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday saying that if US had threatened to declare Pakistan a terrorist state, Islamabad would have certainly taken effective steps to dismantle terrorist infrastructure within its territory.
