Yes, not a time that AMD needs problems with flash. Their one hope of some profitable revenue is their participation in an upturn in the flash market. At least until the first quarter of '03, when Hammer may start some volume shipments.

Now if they can't sell microprocessors at a profit, and can't ship flash, or only at a loss, their fixed costs will eat them alive.

No wonder Jerry went the foundry route. Who would lend them money for a real fab.
