OT This is the first significant outage I've experienced since getting DSL about a year ago. Used to have cable modem service when I lived in PA. Their installation was far superior to DSL. When there were outages they provided pro rata refunds. When I asked Pac Bell yesterday for a pro rata refund yesterday they said they don't refund unless service is out for 24 consecutive hours. If I had the choice I would probably switch back to cable modem, but it is not available in the N CA community I now reside in.
