12:18PM Protein Design rises on buyout rumor (PDLI) 11.04 +1.66: -- Update -- Stock is surging well above its biotech peers this morning, due we're told to a rumor that DNA may make a bid for the co. One source tells us that a hypothetical bid could make sense given that DNA already pays royalties to PDLI for the Herceptin drug.
