<AMD's assets -- old processes, borrowed technologies and aging designs>

You contradicted yourself on "aging designs" since both Clawhammer and Sledgehammer are brand new compared to the aging P4 design.

In reality the 41% higher GHz of 0.13u P4s is not very impressive given that the pipeline is twice as long.

At most Intel has a 20% advantage right now, but that will soon change as AMD leapfrogs.

Problem is, the value of AMD's assets isn't very high - old processes, borrowed technologies and aging designs.

Huh? AMD has outstanding chip designs and excellent factories. That's not the problem.

The problem is Intel. Who wants to join the fight against a cash-rich, mean-ass company like Intel? All of a sudden the list shrinks to companies who are already fighting Intel, which leaves Sun, Apple and conceivably Microsoft.
