Michael,
thx for the kudos..

Funny, in his most recent issue Gilder writes cautiously about the "wasted efforts" of "digital" and in praise of "analog" and its power saving applications.

From what he writes I do like US firms like NSM, FCS, ONNN (more expensive are CREE, MSCC, SYXI, POWI, IRF) and of course Japanese firms like NIEC (6974.J) and NJR (6911.J)

As a matter of fact, Japan stocks saved my day. Picked 3 winners already: Ando, NJR and NIEC. Ando I sold prematurely but NJR was a great investment and NIEC is still zooming ahead.

Now I found some japanese metrology companies on the Cheap also like Topcon (7732.J) and Shimdzu (7701.J) which were recently added to my porrtfolio. Both have a Price/Sales ratio under 0.35. Compare that to NANO, RTEC and TWAV and you have a reason to buy Japan again. The May-July bearish mood was not felt that much in my portfolio because of the good performance of my Japan holdings.

Most recently I found a maker of automotive related discretes called Tokyo Cosmos electric (TOCOS), ticker 6772.J. Price to Sales is 0,10 and the firm just completed their turnaround. Big in varistors and automotive sensor specialties. Around 85 Yen right now. This years EPS are to be around 20 Yen per share. That's a cheapo valuation - just comapre it to VSH (Vishay) and you have another opportunity <g>
