The US team was phenomenal. They deserved to be in the finals. Pelé said that the only reason the US didn't make it was because the referee was prejudiced against them. That German hand ball on the goal line was outrageous.

It was great though how the Americans didn't whine like the Italians and Spaniards. And it was particularly amusing watching the BBC announcers choking over their own words after the US-Mexico match.

Too bad GWB slept through that match, and didn't bother to RSVP to President Fox's invitation to watch the game together. He didn't win any popularity points in Europe or Mexico that day.
