It was the same with the Japanese in WWII. The allies kicking their butts changed them from barbarians into a great industrial power. One generation ago the Arabs were living in tents. Their sudden burst of oil money was a cultural disaster for them, as they obviously have not advanced sufficiently as a society to deal with wealth. It is up to the Democracies of the world to assist them in their educational process, and not romanticize the nightmare of modern Islam.
