Yeah, when I reread my post, I realized I said "100 million"...shoulda read "100 billion". The point is, they were big, but current problems are more deeply ingrained in the economy, and therefore less amenable to Dr. Greenspan's monetary "cure". Agree totally that if LTCM had been allowed to blow up, the worst of the bubble consequences we are now experiencing would have been averted. That's why moral hazard is so pernicious...it's like allowing an infection to spread for YEARS!<NG>
