Anyone care to hazard a hypothesis as to why this might be...?

Simple Everyone is buying houses because income potential has been reduced in other areas. Now as leisure time increases for consultants they are taking courses on construction and creative mortgage financing. VBG or NVBG not sure.

Your selection of posts was excellent and the subsequent replies equally so. Thank you.

Im just trying to figure out how with the cost of housing here where i live skyrocketing as dot coms, business is going to be able to cut costs to create a profit..

Day trader AWOL -- no surprise

IMO the answer to your question can be found in this article that was posted on the Online Trading Board:

Message 17731574

From the article:

"The North American Securities Administrators Association warned a few years ago that 70 percent of day traders "will not only lose, but will almost certainly lose everything they invest."

For its part, the Securities and Exchange Commission predicted that most day traders will experience "devastating losses."

IMO many of those involved with "Day trading" have experienced losses, and have found that "Daytrading" is not a profitable "hobby".

Trading is a minority game. The majority loses while a minority winds up with all the dough.
