As ex-GOPer I believe Bush is the main cause of this confidence crisis. He's consistently made all the important moves wrongly:serious bombing of Iraq days after Inauguration(to show toughness?); conflict with China weeks afterwards(nearly starting a war?); a huge badly targeted tax cut, now helping balloon the deficit; gross mishandling of terror issue before and after the fact; attempting to run the affairs of other countries publically(he can't run his own); overpromising and underdelivering etc. All above suggest irresponsibility and/or incompetence on his part.I also believe that the events during the Presidential Elections were very damaging to the US, both internal and externally. The dollar drop also related to all above,IMHO.

Just as I thought Ray, you have no backbone. This aint about GWB, this is about you thinking your better than everybody else because you've found the bad guy and everyone who does'nt see things quite the way you do is somehow implicated in the scam. This is about you saying I'm some greedy little capitalistic pig, living off the flesh of my employees. and the rest of the world, while you sit atop a pile of money made "capitalistically" and you not having the balls to see the hypocracy.
