Dave, it is true that box making has low margins, and it is not likely AMD will go that far, they will make mobos and keep their WB buyers happy. With low costs and volume a business can be made. Dell did it. Others can do it. Just copy Dell.....but they do not, they say they want to keep their dealer network, and their huge management deadwood superstructure fill of good old boys....and down goes the Compaqnic. If the new method is direct alone, then HP/CPQ must do that or die the same death compaq died(you do realize that compaq died?). Bill
