Not all polemical discourse is motivated by either a race to the bottom, or an attempt on the hill. Some may exercise the body; some may exercise the mind; and some may exercise their sense of the perverse.

Sometimes exercise is just exercise. At other times there is the hope of achieving a less contiguous result or goal. And, of course, things may often be more complex than they appear on the surface.

I was competing mostly with myself, and pressing my own understanding...but few people are capable of understanding that...

As a matter of fact, I WAS in diapers when I read "The Art of Loving"...at least the first couple of times.
