Have you tried to apply any oscillators to sentiment charts? There is a correlation between excessive bearishness and short term bottoms. The tricky bit is deciding what level of bearishness is "excessive".

According to that chart, we could get more bearish and then have a small bounce and eventually go much lower. What timeframes do you trade in?
