>>>...Yet Texas has the most regressive tax structure and spends the least per capita on social services than
any state in the union...

Politicizing a quote from the Bible to suit one's political aims? No comment, other than that it's evident that the left ran out of ideas a long time ago, so it's not surprising that they are desperately trying to co-opt what they can.

<<building a record of cutting taxes for Texas' wealthiest citizens and campaign contributors.>>

To what do you refer? Texas has no personal income tax and as a result of the income redistribution scheme known as "Robin Hood" the property taxes of many of those well-heeled contributors have doubled in the last 5 years.

As to your comments about Texas poverty, a couple of comments. First, Texas ranks second only to Arkansas in most of those categories. Your man Clinton must have taken the "key" from Bush when he solved all of their problems. Second, a majority of the problems to which you refer are a result of the border counties whereby Texas has become a welfare state for Mexico.

As to your reference to the "lone star" in our state flag, it refers to the time when Texas was an independent country and we didn't have to put up with assholes from other parts of the country, thank you very much. And yes, I take offense to your reference to Texas as "hell on earth."

Have you noticed that all of the states bordering on Mexico have child poverty rates in the 23 to 27 percent range? Florida, which could be considered another border state, is also in the 21 percent range. Probably wouldn't be surprised if many of deep south states have high poverty rates since you're comparing local incomes versus much higher bar for income nationwide.
