Hi Greg, I think Intel could make things tighter, compared to Microsoft, Cisco or Sun's reportedly tight measures. SJMN said Microsoft doesn't have the geog pay anymore, does Intel? Other large companies aren't giving out bonuses, is Intel? Tim May said this is harder than 1974, and if so, then Intel should cut the base pay bonuses, including Barrett's bonus for this year. (Barrett's doing a great job, especially in such challenging times, but with so many other CEO's offering to pass on their bonuses this year and even some of Intel's own employees would prefer not to get their base pay bonus this year since it's not going to help the stock any.)

RE: "How do you think the market would react, if Intel were to announce such a reduction "

I have no clue how the market would react if Intel made such a reduction.

I have never seen such conflicting reports on businesses - the economy is good, there was some good news regarding Dell earlier this week, yet there's a lot of bad news out there. AMD's announcement bugged me. I was thinking of buying some protective puts but decided not to. I have some cov calls on INTC that are far out.

Regards,
Amy J
