Thanks for the thoughtful response, Huey. The poll question also seems to be phrased to choose between Paul and Shannon. That's true only if you believe that Paul is going to be consistently polite and Shannon is going to be consistently impolite. This is not a choice of individual people or the fundamental content of their posts. It's a choice of openly supporting the polite or impolite style of their presentation. If we choose the latter, we're openly opposing our community's dedication to the information in the thread header, that the only off-topic post is a rude post. --Mike Buckley

Huey, Thank you for your kind words regarding my contribution. I would like to clarify one issue. I have no problem with the topic that John chooses to discuss. I have a problem with his rudeness and personal attacks on some regular posters. It is often the case with this type of highly intelligent troll that they try to frame the issue as a rejection of their ideas (at our great loss). This is strictly manipulative. There are other posters, Pirah comes to mind, who discuss similar topics in a style consistent with informed and intelligent debate. I continue to welcome Pirah's contributions. Please remember, this is about standards of behaviour and not about censoring content. Paul
