IBM owns software pioneer Lotus Development, maker of the Lotus Notes messaging system. Its subsidiary Tivoli Systems develops tools that manage corporate computer networks. The company's software business offers a vast array of products, including database management (DB2), e-commerce (WebSphere), operating system, security, and storage management software. I could go on. ... Other than that the first sentence of your post is pretty much correct.
