LOL... maybe... but given that he rose to the position that he did, I think it's obvious that AG is intellectually flexible , pragmatic, and not dogmatic. Right or wrong, it's likely that he changed his mind many times in the years following that purported conversation. Even if

a) the conversation did occur, and
b) AG did believe in Kondratiev cycle theory (despite no evidence of this), and
c) he still believes in K-cycle theory (likewise), and
d) he thinks that we are in the downgrade of the cycle, and
e) he still thinks that he can mitigate the downgrade,

it still does not mean that the policy actions of the FOMC reflect this. I find it a bit difficult to believe that the academic research justifying the FOMC actions is just part of an elaborate facade to support a decision that is really based on K-cycle dogmatism. AG can be wrong for many reasons. Believing that he can stop the K-cycle downgrade (if in fact he does believe this) is not the only way to be wrong.
