Hi Robert,

I think you have encapsulated the problem very well. I am finding WinXP behaving oddly almost every day. I think I will start archiving all of them for future reference. My first experience was when I decided to go the upgrade route from Win98 to WinXP Pro. After doing what I thought was thorough research, I undertook the project only to end up with a totally unusable hard disk. The good news was I did a backup first, but it certainly set the tone for my future experience with it.

As I said before, you have shown a lot of patience with your project.
